Loved that Died

"Love that Died" is a love letter to a childhood lover who left to venture out in the world. The letter first talks about how the writer felt when the lover left and the emotional toll they went through. It continues to talk about the crush's return to their hometown. Turns out the person she returns with is abusive. The writer talks about how emotionally scared he was not being able to help her in her time of need. He also talks about the guilt he feels to have let the abuse continue and tries to justify his guilt.

The Scope

From the moment I opened my eyes to see you I loved you

They said if I really loved you I would let you go

So I did...
They also said that if it was true love you would return to me
Therefore I waited...

Inspired by Romeo and Juliet I waited
For you so we could run away together

Aspiring to always be with you

You ran away - you flew, you soared

I waited and waited

You came back; that was a glorious day - a day full of love
Yet you did not come alone...

I wanted so much to help you

I knew... I saw the fear in your eyes
No one believed me; they thought I was acting out of jealousy.

I saw all the signs
The bruises, the excess makeup, all the flinching, and all the anger in his eyes

Just because I loved you and it hurt to see you go,  does not mean I would mess with fate

You don't love him; I assume you don't love me anymore either

Yet I wanted to be your superhero; Your superman; Your savior; Your saving grace from this low life of a man

Dear God help us both

It pains me so much to know you go through this pain

Courageous are you to have pushed through

I know the woman I fell in love with came through on your final days

I'm sorry no one was there for you

Sincerely yours forever...
